I’ve been on the lookout for the perfect chandelier to go
over our bed. I have a specific style in mind, and every time I shop, the
chandeliers I find are too big, or not the right color, or not the right style.
It’s a whole Goldilocks scenario. BUT THEN, ONE DAY…
I went to Stock and Trade in Homewood. They had this beauty
hanging from the ceiling.
I bought it. Check!
I also found the perfect light fixture to hang over our
dining table. Isn’t it darling?
I was also having a difficult time finding the perfect
island for our kitchen. I really wanted something that had history and looked
more like a piece of furniture than an island. I found several options, but
they were all more expensive than I was comfortable with. I finally gave up on
searching. I was lamenting to my mother about the island issue, and she said, “What
about Grammie’s buffet?” WHAT?!?! I tried to contain myself. “Would you really
let me have it?” I meekly asked. “Sure,” she said, “It’s just sitting
downstairs in the basement.” She went on to tell me that she was fine with me
painting it (she knows me well), and thus, the island issue was solved!
